If you want to build an online business you need a web presence. With other words, you need your own website or blog.
Like I use to say, no matter what platform you use to build a website or blog the most important is that you optimize your website or blog to the traffic source you use and build your list.
You may get great results with wordpress.org, blogger.com or webs.com blogging platform if you master SEO or social marketing and your content is relevant.
You may also get great results with a single landing page with opt in form using PPC or safelist marketing if your website has good conversion rate and your offer is helping people to get desired results.
What matters most is YOU - are YOU able to give real working solutions and answers.
Recommending you the domain and hosting provider I personally have had no problems with GoDaddy. If you have multiple domains, the hostgator shared hosting is better choice, but if you host just one domain then choose GoDaddy Linux hosting and you get .com domain for just $1.99.
